All-State Excerpts
To obtain copies of the All-State audition excerpts, sign on to the TMEA website, click on “Orchestra”, then on “All-State Audition Material.” Once there, you may click to download the PDF files of the excerpts to be printed on your computer. These are large files and take awhile to download. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to download and read the files.
***All-State Excerpt Cut Information***
All information pertaining to the Area Audition will be announced on the TMEA website after 2:00 pm CST. on the Friday before the audition.  This information will include:  The order of taping, all etude excerpts, and all repertoire excerpts.  All information will be listed in the order for which it will be recorded. Please have your students organize their material according to the website!
Again, check the website weekly for bowing changes and errata.
In order for a student to audition for all-state they must have auditioned at the Region level. If selected for one of the Region Orchestras, students must fulfill all obligations of the Region Orchestra.

Audition Procedures:
1.  No Audition Needed
Recording will begin at 4:00 pm only if there are fewer students auditioning than what Region 9 is allowed to send to the All-State Audition Rounds. Students in these sections will register, pay their $25 recording fee, and sign up for a recording station. Students will remain in the warm-up area until called for by the recording station
2.  Area Audition Needed
An Area audition is required when there are more students enrolled for an audition than what Region 9 can send.  This audition determines which students from Region 9 advance to the All-State Audition Rounds. This audition will begin at 10:00 and will continue until all performers have been heard. The winners of this audition will then register, pay their $25 recording fee, and sign up for a recording station. Students will remain in the warm-up area until called for by the recording station
